Random Word Drabble Challenge Day 119 word is Cataract.

Niagara Falls and Daredevil Red Hill — Flickr Free images adapted with PowerPoint Design Creations.

A drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words, no more, no less. I hope you enjoy it. Please scroll and read for at least 30 seconds. Claps, highlights, and comments are optional but very appreciated.

The tour guide walked us to the top of the falls. He said, “This is where Daredevil Red Hill used to go over the cataract into what’s called ‘The Queen of the Mist.’”

“No, no. That’s a waterfall. A cataract is when your eyes cloud over and become opaque.”

The guide chuckled. “That’s one way to use the word cataract. But it’s also a widespread, cascading waterfall like this one you’re about to go over in a specially developed barrel so that the white water and rocks don’t beat you to a bloody pulp on the way down.”

“Wait, what?”

For this drabble, the random word to build the story around is “cataract.”
